Cricket In Schools

Our School Programs

One of NT Cricket's key objectives is to 'make cricket fun, accessible and welcoming for everyone in our community' and one of the main initiatives to achieve this is by having a more visible presence with school-aged children across the Territory.

NT Cricket is committed to working with our local schools to help promote a healthy, active lifestyle amongst school-aged children and ensure that Australia's favourite sport has an impact at all levels of education.

By introducing our various programs to local schools and offering support to those looking to run our programs, our longer-term aim is to help educate and upskill school staff/resources to deliver self-sustaining programs, and then help to link these programs to our local junior clubs and competitions.

We currently offer the following curriculum-aligned programs for our local Territory schools to run. If you are interested in co-ordinating one of our programs below, or would like more information, please contact ntcricket@ntcricket.com.au.

Sporting Schools Cricket Program

Sporting Schools is an Australian Government initiative designed to help schools increase children's participation in sport, and to connect them with community sporting opportunities. Primary & secondary schools can apply for funding to purchase school cricket equipment and access NT Cricket coach delivered programs.

All of our Cricket programs are aligned with the Australian Curriculum and provide an inclusive and engaging program with a core focus on 'learning through play'. Whether you select our coach or teacher delivered Cricket package, these programs are made up of highly engaging practical cricket activities suitable for students of all abilities. In addition, resources have been developed for easy delivery by both coaches and teachers.
