Community Cricket Awards

Each year, Cricket Australia launch their National Community Cricket Awards, a recognition programme that celebrates the outstanding contribution of grassroots volunteers across the country. The nominations process opens at the start of the year with the annual winners announced during National Volunteer Week at the end of May.

NT Cricket encourage all our cricket organisations across the Territory to nominate their clubs and members for the National Community Cricket Awards.

There are 15 categories that individuals and organisations can be nominated for, outlined below.

  • Celebrating Cricket In Schools

    This award recognises a school, ambassador or initiative that celebrates the connection between school, student and the broader cricket community.

  • Community Cricket Association

    This award acknowledges a Cricket Association that actively works to create a sustainable competition that provides opportunities for everyone to have the chance to be involved in cricket.

  • Community Cricket Club

    This award recognises a community cricket club that actively creates welcoming environments and seeks to create sustainable participation and growth through good governance, volunteer support and inclusive on-field programs.

  • Community Cricket Coach

    This award celebrates a coach who exemplifies coaching 'The Australian Way'. Someone who has gone out of their way to make sure that participants are supported to develop both their skills and a lifelong love of cricket.

  • Community Cricket Partnership

    This award recognises the outstanding leadership and support in building community-based partnerships that provide positive outcomes to the cricket community (eg: Local Government, not-for-profit groups, multiple clubs)

  • Community Facility Project

    This award acknowledges a club, organisation or local government authority that has developed or redeveloped a Community Cricket Facility that has delivered upon Australian Cricket’s strategic objectives, incorporated environmentally sustainable design and facilitated successful stakeholder relationships.

  • Community Match Official

    This award recognises a match official (such as a scorer, team manager, umpire) who leads by example in championing safe, fair and enjoyable cricket for all.

  • Woolworths Cricket Blast Coordinator

    This award recognises a Coordinator who emphasise the essential aspects of the Cricket Blast Coordinator's role, focusing on creating an enjoyable, inclusive, and skill-oriented environment while fostering community involvement and contributing to the future of cricket.

  • Inclusion & Diversity Initiative

    This award acknowledges the outstanding delivery of diverse and inclusive experiences by finding clever and innovative ways to engage and grow their club.

  • Indoor Facility

    This award recognises an indoor facility that embraces the connection with the community and cricket to provide the best program experience to its participants.

  • Junior Initiative

    This award acknowledges the outstanding delivery of junior cricket experiences by finding clever and innovative ways to engage and grow their junior offering with a focus on education, fun and social connection.

  • Technology & Media Initiative

    This award recognises an individual, club or Association who uses technology to create a connection to its members, by reducing volunteer time, connecting members through social media or enhancing participant experience.

  • Volunteer of the Year

    This award recognises an outstanding individual who has demonstrated significant contribution and leadership in supporting their club, Association, program or team to create great experiences for their community.

  • Women & Girls Initiative

    This award celebrates the outstanding delivery of female-based experiences by finding clever and innovative ways to engage and grow their program.

  • Young Leader

    This award celebrates a young person, under the age of 25, who positively impacts those around them through their off-field leadership in volunteering.
