Girls Only Colour Blast Experience cricket in a new and exciting way through the inclusion of 'non-traditional' activities alongside our more traditional cricket activities with a splash of colour and water! Come & Try Cricket' Girls Only Colour Blast Sessions A similar concept to our 'Come & Try Cricket' mornings, but these sessions are exclusively for girls. Designed for girls aged 5-12yrs who have never played the game before, this program encourages players to learn new cricket skills while using colour as the vehicle to promote cricket! Why Run a Girls Only Colour Blast Program? In most cases, these Girls Only Colour Blast sessions are designed to introduce girls to cricket in a non-traditional way. Colour Blast promotes cricket in a fun and exciting light, aiming to ensure that all participants feel like part of a team. Recent Colour Blast Sessions NT Cricket held our latest Girls Only Colour Blast event in the 2025 January School Holidays with 53 girls in attendance. Young girls learned cricket fundamentals while enjoying the excitement of colour and water bombs, making for a fun and engaging experience. More than 50% of these girls then signed up into the NT Cricket Blast Hub as their clear and connected next step. 01:12 Play video January School Holiday Programs - Girls Only Colour Blast On February 6th, NT Cricket held a Girls Only Colour Blast session in Tennant Creek for the first time. We introduced 12 girls to cricket who have never played the game before. On February 16th, our first ever Girls Only Colour Blast was held in Alice Springs as part of the Imparja Cup. An amazing 52 girls attended and participated in our inaugural Alice Springs Colour Blast. Play Our Way funding helped to bring this event to life with NT Cricket’s recently appointed Women & Girls Growth Leads (Megan Harris and Hannah Armstrong) leading this event. The ability to utilise the Game Development Fund with the ACA just amplified the occasion, with former ACT Meteors player Kayla Burton in attendance to support the event and engage with our first time female cricketers in Alice Springs.
