Australian Men’s Cricketers With an Intellectual Disability Team Head to the NT

The Australian Men’s Cricketers with an Intellectual Disability (ID) Team is set to embark on a training camp in the Northern Territory, marking an important step in the squad's development. Running from May 3-10 at DXC Arena, Darwin, the camp will consist of three matches against Northern Territory Cricket’s Academy, as well as a mixture of training sessions and cultural activities.

Supported by NT Cricket’s Pathway and Performance staff, including Australian Men’s Blind Cricket Team Assistant Coach Trent Keep, the training camp will offer some of the country’s best cricketers with an intellectual disability the opportunity to refine techniques, strengthen team cohesion and prepare for elite-level competition.

In addition, the squad will participate in three T20 matches against the NT Academy, gaining valuable match experience in a competitive setting.

Beyond the cricket field, the squad will participate in local excursions and cultural activities. On arrival, the team will take part in a Larrakia Saltwater Welcome to Country, acknowledging and paying respect to the Traditional Custodians of the land, while throughout the week they will explore Darwin and immerse themselves in the unique landscapes and vibrant culture.
