NT Cricket is proud to announce the continued support of McDonald’s as a major supporter of Junior Cricket in Darwin. McDonalds return as naming rights partner of all junior divisions of the 2025 Darwin & Districts Cricket Competition, continuing an incredible partnership that now spans 17 years.
Thanks to the ongoing support of McDonalds and the collective efforts of clubs, volunteers and parents, junior cricket in the Top End continues to thrive.
This year the competition welcomes seven additional teams driven by strong player retention and growth, with 323 returning players and 176 new players signing up for their first cricket experience.
Female participation continues to trend upward, with 13% of all junior players now female, a promising sign for the ongoing growth and development of the girls' and women’s game in the Territory.
The McDonald’s Under 12s age group leads the way overall, with 18 teams registered across two divisions, making it the most participated age group in the competition.
NT Cricket Head of Clubs & Competitions Karl Mayne welcomed the continued support from McDonald’s and praised the growth of junior participation across the region.
“The continued support from McDonald’s makes a genuine difference to junior cricket in the Top End, and we’re proud to have them alongside us again in 2025. Seven new teams and over 500 junior players registered this season is a real credit to the work of our clubs, volunteers, and families."
Phillip Coleman, Licensee for McDonald's Stuart Park and Darwin Central, stated his excitement about the renewed partnership and the opportunity to continue supporting the Darwin and Districts Cricket Competition's Junior grades.

The Junior season officially launches this Saturday, 26 April, with clubs across Darwin and Districts set to host matches from U9s through to U18s.
