Desert Rats, Ladeez & Blue Healers Imparja Cup Winners!

The 32nd Imparja Cup, powered by DXC Technology, brought together over 350 participants from across the country to Alice Springs for Australia's largest Indigenous cricket carnival. Over five days, 45 matches were played across five venues, with teams competing in the Women's, Men's, Major Centres, and Schools divisions.

Starting as a match between two towns in the Northern Territory, Alice Springs and Tennant Creek, the annual event celebrates cricket, culture and country. This year's event not only showcased cricket talent but also marked significant milestones for inclusivity and growth within the sport.

This year, we saw the participation of an interstate team competing in the Major Centres Division, with the 'Redfern All Blacks' from New South Wales making history.

The inaugural Girls-Only Colour Blast added a vibrant touch to the festivities, promoting female participation in cricket through the ‘Play Our Way’ Program - a Federal Government initiative dedicated to removing barriers to women and girls in sports.

The Schools Division saw remarkable growth, doubling the number of teams to eight, including two female teams and the primary school cricket gala day was at Ross Park, with 104 juniors from five Alice Springs schools getting a taste of the game.
