NT Cricket is calling for nominations from talented male and female Indigenous players to represent the NT at the 2025 National Indigenous Cricket Championships.
Nominations Open For NICC In Mackay, Queensland
The NICC will be held on Yuwibara Country in Mackay Queensland, April 2-7, after relocating from Arrernte Country in Mpartnwe, Alice Springs, where the Championships were hosted for eight consecutive years.
The NICC showcases some of the best Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cricketers from across the country, many playing W/BBL, First-Class and Premier Cricket, and provides the opportunity to celebrate cricket’s connection with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Peoples.
The Championships also offer a pathway for talented and aspiring Indigenous cricketers to display their skill on the national stage, following in the footsteps of D’Arcy Short, Scott Boland, Dan Christian and Ashleigh Gardner who have all competed in the NICC before going on to represent Australia at the highest level.
NT Cricket was disappointed not to be in a position to enter teams in 2024 due to lack of player availability and interest, however we would like to encourage all talented male and female indigenous players interested in competing at the 2025 Championships to complete the nomination form below.
With the NICC now moving back to April (it was formerly held in February), NT Cricket intend to use the 2025 Imparja Cup (15-19 February) as a selection opportunity for those male and female players interested in representing the NT at the NICC.
NT Cricket would also like to invite nominations from those wanting to Coach or act as Team Manager for the NT Indigenous Teams.
