Remote Schools Program

NT Cricket are driven to make our game accessible to as many school-aged children as possible across the Northern Territory. For our remote communities, we are committed to providing opportunities for kids who wouldn’t normally have access to cricket.

With support from the Woolworths Cricket Fund, NT Cricket staff are able to visit regional schools to run Junior Cricket Clinics, often tying them in with our Remote Carnivals, to provide local kids with fun and engaging sessions to help promote a healthy and active lifestyle through the game of Cricket.

Walkabout Wickets by Kirrae Whurrong artist Fiona Clarke (b.1963), represents cricket stars past, present and future, and the meeting places where they play.

Aunty Fiona is is a descendant of James 'Mosquito' Couzens and his brother Jonny Couzens, members of the first Australian cricket team who toured England in 1868.
