Purpose
The purpose of these guidelines is to ensure consistency, professionalism, and adherence to branding requirements across all Clubs participating in the Darwin & Districts Cricket Competition (DDCC). Compliance with these guidelines is mandatory and will be enforced through penalties for non-compliance.
1. Approved Apparel
All on-field playing apparel must be approved by the Head of Clubs & Competitions (HCC).
Clubs must adhere to the specifications outlined in this document regarding club logos, competition logos, and sponsor logos.
1.1 Submission Requirements
- Final artwork and design samples, including size specifications of all logos, must be submitted to the HCC for approval prior to production.
- Designs must be submitted at least 30 days prior to the season start to ensure timely approval.
- Any changes to previously approved designs must be resubmitted for approval.
2. Colours and Design
2.1 Two-Day Matches (Red Ball)
The following provisions apply for all red ball Two-Day matches:
2.1.1 Playing Shirts
- Shall be plain white or cream.
- Coloured piping in Club colours may be used to emphasise a seam.
- The inside of the collar and placket may feature Club colours.
- Uniform design must be consistent across all team members.
- Sponsor logos must comply with the DDCC Logo Policy (refer to Appendix A).
2.1.2 Playing Trousers
- Shall be plain white or cream.
2.1.3 Undergarments
- Must be plain white. (Excludes women’s bras.)
2.1.4 Footwear
- Must be predominantly white unless otherwise approved by Head of Club & Competitions.
2.1.5 Caps and Sunhats
- Caps and hats must have uniform colours and designs for all team members.
- Floppy hats must be plain white or Club colours.
2.1.6 Pads (Batting and wicket-keeping)
- Must be plain white for A & B Grade Two-Day matches.
- Pads must not contain Club logos.
2.2 One-Day Matches (White Ball)
The following provisions apply to all white ball limited-overs matches:
2.2.1 Playing Shirts
- The base colour must not be white or cream.
- Uniform design must be consistent across all team members.
- Sponsor logos must comply with the DDCC Logo Policy (refer to Appendix A).
2.2.2 Playing Trousers
- The base colour must not be white or cream.
- Sunday Grades, and Juniors may wear Club-coloured shorts.
2.2.3 Undergarments
- Must match the base colour of the playing shirt. White undergarments are permissible provided they do not protrude from the sleeves.
- Playing skins must match the base colour of the playing shirt.
2.2.4 Footwear
- A & B Grade players must wear spikes when playing on turf.
- Women’s, C Grade, and Sunday Grades are encouraged to wear spikes on turf.
2.2.5 Caps and Sunhats
- Caps and hats must have uniform colours and designs for all team members.
- Floppy hats must be plain white or Club colours.
2.2.6 Pads (Batting and wicket-keeping)
- Must be coloured (club colours) in A Grade T20, A, B and Women’s white ball matches. The colour of the pads shall be uniform to all members of the same team.
- Pads must not contain Club logos.
3. Logos
The logo positioning and sizes are consistent across all clubs. If the club has an existing partnership that affects how branding assets are divided on the uniform, DDCC will collaborate with the club in good faith to reach a mutually satisfactory solution.
All sponsor logos must be submitted to the HCC for approval prior to printing. Clubs must advise the Committee of their logos at the start of each season, even if previously approved.
3.1 Logo Placement
3.1.1 Front of Playing Shirt
- Club logo on the left chest.
- Competition logo on the right chest.
- One sponsor logo on the lower half.
3.1.2 Back of Playing Shirt
- One sponsor logo on the lower back.
- Player numbers are recommended on the back of the shirt.
3.1.3 Sleeves
- Clubs can have logos on both sleeves. 1 logo per sleeve with each logo not exceeding 64.5 sq cm.
3.1.4 Playing Trousers
All Playing Trousers logos will be displayed between the waist and knee.
- Club logo on the left leg, not exceeding 64.5 sq cm (10 square inches)
- Competition logo on the right leg, not exceeding 64.5 sq cm (10 square inches)
- Apparel Manufacturer logo* on the right leg, not exceeding 12.9 sq cm (2 square inches)
*Apparel Manufacturer logo can only be placed on the Playing Trousers if it isn't already on the Playing Shirt.
3.2 Logo Dimensions
- Sponsor Logos (Front/Back): Max 17 cm (W) x 10 cm (H); area ≤ 170 sq cm.
- Club and Competition Logos (Chest): Max 10 cm (W) x 9 cm (H); area ≤ 90 sq cm.
- Sleeve Logos: Not exceeding 64.5 sq cm.
4. Approval Process
- Submit all artwork and design approvals to karl.mayne@ntcricket.com.au
- Include design files with precise dimensions for all logos and elements.
- Allow up to 14 days for approval.
5. Penalties
Non-compliance with these guidelines will result in the following penalties:
Failure to Wear Identical Clothing (Senior Grades):
- A Grade: $200
- B Grade: $100
- C Grade & Below: $50
- Women: $50
Non-Approved Logos:
- Offending teams will incur penalties at the discretion of HCC.
Umpire Reports:
- Captains and umpires must report breaches of apparel guidelines.
- A $10 fine per player (capped at $30 per team) will be applied for non-compliant items in B Grade and below.
