NT Cricket is pleased to announce Trent Keep in the newly created role of Pathways and Talent Development Coach.
Trent Keep Announced As New Pathways & Talent Development Coach
This new full-time role will see Trent serve as a consistent presence across both female and male pathways with a primary focus on developing the Territory’s next generation of professional players to follow in the footsteps of D’Arcy Short, Jake Weatherald, Kane Richardson, Tom Andrews, Shelley Nitschke and Tabitha Saville.
Trent is a Cricket Australia High-Performance Coach (Level III) and will be instrumental in identifying local talent, driving skill development, and fostering holistic athlete growth.
The role will also have a key focus on community and high-performance coach development, with Trent overseeing the implementation and management of a coach development framework which is clear, professional and aligned to national standards. This will include working closely with clubs to upskill local coaches and raise the quality and brand of coaching throughout the Territory.
Trent brings a wealth of experience in performance pathways and coach development gained through his professional roles and playing experience in Tasmania, Queensland and the United Kingdom.
Trent’s deep understanding of cricket’s development landscape is complemented by his hands-on coaching experience – which spans underage pathway programs, senior premier cricket, and more recently the Australian Vision Impaired Team which recently won the Ashes on home soil.
Throughout his career, Trent has demonstrated a commitment to nurturing both the person and the player. His holistic approach to development focuses on fostering resilience, skill, and growth on-and-off the field – ensuring athletes are prepared for the challenges of high-performance environments.
Trent’s first steps will involve working closely with Head of Cricket Nick Winter to implement a renewed NT High-Performance Academy for both male and female players.
Head of Cricket Nick Winter:
“This is a big milestone for our male and female pathways – we now have a full-time high-performance coach who is solely dedicated to the development of our talented players and coaches.
This appointment will help to bridge the gap between the NT and other professional high-performance cricket systems.
Trent’s desire to work in a team and 1-1 environment will ensure we give our local players the best opportunity to maximise their talent.
We are excited to see Trent’s impact as he works to create opportunities for the Territory's aspiring cricketers and elevate the standards of player development in the region."
Please join us in welcoming Trent Keep to NT Cricket!
