NT Cricket Welcomes Karl Mayne as Head of Clubs and Competitions

NT Cricket is excited to announce the appointment of Karl Mayne as the new Head of Clubs and Competitions. A familiar figure in Darwin's cricketing community, Karl brings an impressive blend of sports administration experience, coaching expertise, and a genuine passion for the game.

Karl has contributed cricket in the Northern Territory through various coaching roles, from club-level mentoring to shaping pathway programs and leading Strike League teams. His multifaceted background extends to work with AFL Northern Territory, where he served as State Coaching Manager and Club Development Lead over the past 18 months. Prior to that, he was the General Manager at Squash Victoria and a Cricket Manager at Cricket Victoria, driving initiatives to grow participation and support club development.

I’m excited to elevate our clubs and competitions by creating welcoming environments that inspire lifelong cricketers, with a focus on growing participation among women, girls, and Indigenous Territorians

— Karl Mayne

In addition to holding a Master of Sport Business, Karl remains deeply invested in youth cricket. He is currently part of NT Cricket’s coaching staff for the NT U16 Girls and NT U17 Boys teams, guiding them as they prepare for National Championships. This involvement reflects Karl's unwavering commitment to nurturing cricket talent and building inclusive environments across the Territory—a place he proudly calls home with his partner and young daughter.

NT Cricket looks forward to seeing Karl's impact in the coming season as he works to elevate our clubs, competitions, and the cricket community at large across the Territory.

Welcome to the team, Karl!
