Angus Vear has made the move from Tasmania to join NT Cricket as a Senior Curator.
Angus Vear Joins NT Cricket
Growing up in Melbourne's inner north from a young age Angus Vear had a love for sports and growing plants, two passions which later combined into the ideal career of Sports Turf Management.
Angus went on to study Urban Horticulture at Melbourne University which was followed by an opportunity at Cricket Tasmania to complete his apprenticeship at Blundstone Arena under Marcus Pamplin.
"Marcus shaped me into not only the curator I am today but helped me grow personally," said Vear reflecting on his time on the Apple Isle.
Angus had previously visited Darwin in 2017 to work at TIO Stadium for preparation for an AFL Match and loved the experience.
Having enjoyed his five and a half years in Tasmania, Angus felt as though he was ready to further his career and rekindle his relationship with the Top End, one of which he's very excited about.
Angus is looking forward to helping further improve turf and cricket in the NT and joins the Facilities team lead by Jake Pavlich.
