NT Cricket is delighted to announce a two-year partnership with the Automobile Association of the Northern Territory (AANT) to recognise valued volunteers across the Territory’s vast cricket community.
As part of the landmark partnership, the “AANT Volunteer of the Month” program will seek to highlight, celebrate and recognise the significant contribution volunteers make to grassroots cricket.
NT Cricket CEO Gavin Dovey said he’s thrilled AANT have come on board to help NT Cricket begin its first Volunteer Recognition Program.
“Volunteers are integral to community sport. They are the heartbeat of our clubs, associations and events, and our game wouldn’t exist without their extraordinary contribution.
"AANT is an iconic NT brand that Territorians have come to trust and rely on when they need someone to turn to for help. Much like the many great cricket volunteers we all turn to and that keep our sport going.”
Since 1963 AANT has been servicing the motoring needs of Territorians, with a commitment to the community to make the most of the Territory lifestyle. With over 20,000 members, AANT services cover roadside assistance, insurance, salary packaging, expert motoring advice, and fantastic everyday savings.
AANT CEO Simon Matthias commented on the partnership saying “This partnership with NT Cricket underscores AANT's commitment to supporting community initiatives and recognising the invaluable contributions made by volunteers.
"Cricket is a sport loved by Territorians and this sponsorship provides us with an opportunity to thank those who donate their time each weekend - by serving as a coach, match official or administrator - and allow the game to thrive and prosper."
Nominations for the AANT Volunteer of the Month will open on the first day of each month to allow individuals, clubs and associations across the Territory the opportunity to nominate members who they believe make an invaluable contribution to our local cricket community.
Each month, our winner will receive a 12-month AANT Premium Membership as well as a $250 United Fuel Voucher, kindly provided by AANT.
The AANT Volunteer of the Month program will commence on Monday 1 April with nomination forms and further details available here. Monthly winners will be announced on the first day of the following month via NT Cricket's website and social media platforms.
