NT Women's Over 30s Indoor Cricket Team Ready to Shine at Home Tournament

Palmerston Indoor Sports Centre is abuzz with anticipation as the 2023 Indoor Masters Championships are set to get underway this Saturday, 20 May.

Among the teams competing, the Northern Territory Women's Over 30s team is poised to showcase their skills on their home turf. Led by Captain and Coach Joanne "Jo" Posgate, the team is determined to make their mark in the tournament.

The NT Women's team boasts a blend of experience and fresh talent with only four players having previous Indoor Cricket Nationals experience, the team's diversity is both a strength and an opportunity for growth. 

The team's Vice Captain, Amanda Challen, brings her wealth of experience to the forefront, providing invaluable leadership both on and off the field. Alongside her, players Toni Stehbens and Deann Coates have competed in previous tournaments, lending their expertise and wisdom to guide the team. 

One player to watch out for in the upcoming tournament is Julie Page. Known for her exceptional batting and fielding skills, her extensive experience in outdoor cricket will undoubtedly add an extra dimension to the NT Women's team's performance. 

In a testament to the team's commitment and passion for the sport, players Jo Ferguson, Amanda Anderson, Jincy Puthenparampil, Rach Van Wyk, Stacee Barnes, Shannyn Gereg, and Skye Graham answered the call for players from local outdoor cricket teams. Representing PINT, Palmerston, and Tracy Village cricket clubs, these talented individuals have eagerly joined forces to represent the NT at the championships.

The team is eager to showcase their skills and demonstrate the talent that exists within the NT Women's cricket community.
